Kindle: Amazon's New Wireless Reading Device

I visited Amazon a little over a year ago on a business trip. They gave us a preview of what they were working on in order to compete with the Sony E-Book. Of course this is absolutely no competition at all. This has wifi and all sorts of additional awesome features. They hardly have anything in common. It looks like a lot of fun. It's called Kindle. Barack Obama on Education

Education is an important topic for me. I struggled in school my whole life. I was a student that learned differently. I felt like I was broken and the learning specialists I worked with were supposed to fix me. Well, that never happened. I was never healed or fixed. It wasn't until college that I began to have a few teachers and counselors that uplifted my unique learning styles as a good thing. By then it was too late. I don't want to continue to see other kids struggle like I did. I believe our current president has endorsed an educational initiative that leaves many children behind. I believe Barack Obama brings a fresh set of eyes to the situation. I believe he's paying attention to what the local teachers are saying and not just the Washington D.C., high paid educational consultants. If your interested in viewing the rest of his speech to the NEA please visit http://www.barackobama.com/tv/education.php.

Too sexy to fly?

Each morning as I'm catching up on email I watch the latest videos on MSNBC. This story was just too funny. Two months ago, this college student boarded a Southwest Airlines flight from San Diego to Tucson. Before the flight took off, she was escorted into the jetway by a customer service representative, who asked her to change her clothes. I kind of feel bad for the girl. It was probably some older adult that was offended by her fashion choices and turned her in. What makes me sad is that it's featured in three different places on msnbc.com. Is this really headline material?

Kids Caring 4 Kids

Yes, I will admit to watching Oprah from time to time. Today's episode was on giving. Bill Clinton and Andre Agassi were just two of the guests. The shining star of the hour was Kendall Ciesemier. After viewing an Oprah Winfrey special in the winter of 2004, Kendall Ciesemier decided that she had to do something to help the 12 million AIDS orphans of Africa. She began by adopting a child through World Vision with her own annual contribution of $360. In June 2004, as Kendall faced an upcoming liver transplant, she organized her effort, "Kids Caring 4 Kids", asking friends and family to send donations instead of flowers or gifts. Kendall initially adopted a project through World Vision and began accepting on-line donations. Her story is truly an inspiration.
