Barack Obama on Education

Education is an important topic for me. I struggled in school my whole life. I was a student that learned differently. I felt like I was broken and the learning specialists I worked with were supposed to fix me. Well, that never happened. I was never healed or fixed. It wasn't until college that I began to have a few teachers and counselors that uplifted my unique learning styles as a good thing. By then it was too late. I don't want to continue to see other kids struggle like I did. I believe our current president has endorsed an educational initiative that leaves many children behind. I believe Barack Obama brings a fresh set of eyes to the situation. I believe he's paying attention to what the local teachers are saying and not just the Washington D.C., high paid educational consultants.
