I'd like to thank everyone for their kind notes and prayers for my grandmother. As some of you already know my grandma Buckley's health has deteriated over the last few weeks. Hospice was brought in on Monday. Yesterday Gina and I arrived in Jersey and went straight to the nursing home. I feel so lucky to have gotten a little smile out of her and she squeezed my hand a little as well. Today her condition got much worse. Her breathing has gotten pretty shaky. Please continue keeping her in your thoughts and prayers.

Over the last few weeks I've been listening to a podcast called Roz Rows the Pacific. This podcast is a weekly interview she does via satellite phone with Leo Laporte. Roz Savage is attempting to become the first woman to row solo across the Pacific. As you will learn on her blog at http://rozsavage.com she is doing this for more than just a record. I hope you will consider supporting her effort by voting for her. Vote for Roz to receive part of a $2.5 million grant sponsored by American Express, and show your support for Roz making a positive impact on the world! You must vote by Aug. 19!

I've heard from a member of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) web team that Happy Cog Studios (http://www.happycog.com/) out of Philadelphia, PA has been hired to redesign the ancient and much complained about http://www.pcusa.org/. After reviewing their portfolio I believe that this company has the skills and experience to design a contemporary web site for the church today, tomorrow and beyond. The new pcusa.org needs to be more than just a website. It needs to be a place of community and sharing. The current site is very one-dimensional. It's going to need to be flexible and have the ability to grow and change quickly and easily. How could pcusa.org become a more effective tool for you?
